  1. The double of a suit bid promises at least 3
  2. cards in each of the three unbid suits.  It
  3. guarantees at least 8 points in the unbid suits

  5. If it forces partner to bid at the two level (the
  6. opening bid was in a major suit), it promises a RPC
  7. in the unbid major of 13 or more.  If partner will
  8. be able to respond at the one level (the opening
  9. bid was at the one level in a minor suit), it
  10. promises a RPC in spades of 11 or more.

  13. suit not bid by the opponent even if he has a
  14. bust hand.  One exception is where partner has
  15. has 5 or more of the enemies suit, then he passes
  16. and the takeout double becomes a penalty double.
